Cassowary
These birds were made in several parts and assembled onto drift wood legs. They were extremely sculptural, unfortunately many people displayed them outside where the weather destroyed the legs and consequently I changed the legs into clay constructions with reinforcing steel for extra strength. Even so, these type of sculptures were labour intensive and I got bored making them. They featured in an exhibition ‘Seeing Green’ at the Perc Tucker Gallery where they did look spectacular, few survive.
