Strong colour surrounds the gaze of a thoughtful face and I see but nothing could be done about it, and if you can’t fix it, you’ve got to stand it sort of look. The colour acts like a halo and also leads the eye around the face. I don’t use a very systematic approach but rather a close observation from a starting point that enables me to assess the length of the nose and lips to the edge of the face. The background is very gestural and may suggests several settings.
