Stilllife
Painted with fingers using the wonderful brilliant colours of Matisse acrylics which I grabbed gobs out of 250 ml pots. The pthalo blue and green were amazing. This was painted when I used to accompany my mother to the Weyba Art Group which was named after the local dam near Noosa, they met regularly in a guide hut and the kitchen utensils became a still life subject, done very quickly and later exhibited and sold in the annual show, this was the way art was done in those times when community depended on people coming together to form such clubs. They were often the major social event of that community’s calendar.
