Platypus Play

Hand-built from rolled slabs of clay shaped over newspaper. The design was based on my drawings which exaggerated their bills over their flat sleek bodies. Platypus have always been considered odd creatures from the first discoveries of them, early scientists believed they were a hoax until live specimens were displayed. These were covered in a deep purple glaze with rutile glazes on their bills, I tried to give them a look of wetness to emphasize their sleekness.
