‘Regardless of my love of whimsy I do observe the real world, but I use it in my own way, making a mythical place where I might live rather like imagining yourself into a novel’s setting. I could quite happily live alone in a shack out in the bush, a place hard to get to and throwing me back on myself to survive.’
