Owls
One of the many smaller size birds I used to make. Owls were inspired by Harry Potter of course and represent an ideal design to make in series. I cannot display all the birds here as they enter the hundreds from Kingfishers to pigeons, parrots to crows-all popular with tourists. Usually fired in an electric kiln as the bright colours required an oxidizing atmosphere to earthenware temperatures. These owls have slip decoration covered in a mixture of coloured and clear glazes.
