These types of works were developed from applying colour and smearing it over the surface and turning the painting around till something appeared. From the mix of dark colour appeared a hibiscus bloom and a lizard-all imaginary. At the time I was recovering from cancer surgery and living in a 3 x 3 m tin shed on a block of land at Eudlo in the Sunshine Coast hinterland slowly going mad living alone with the company of three cats.
